Increased Fetal Movement

fetal movement

Today, the baby finally kicked me!"

When the baby develops to a certain stage, pregnant mothers will feel the baby moving in the belly, which is what we often call " fetal movement ". The appearance of fetal movement made pregnant mothers truly feel the existence of small lives, excited and happy. At the same time, fear and fear also followed. If you move too much, you think there is something wrong with the baby, which makes many pregnant mothers worried.

In order for all pregnant mothers to have a good idea, let’s take care of the fetal movement.

  When does fetal movement occur?

In fact, when the pregnancy is 7-8 weeks, the baby starts to exercise in the mother's belly. But at that time, the pregnant mothers still couldn't feel it, and could only observe the various movements of the baby in the womb through B-ultrasound .

At 16-22 weeks of pregnancy, pregnant mothers can feel fetal movement for the first time. However, because the baby's exercise volume is not very large, the intensity of fetal movement will not be obvious, the frequency will be small, and the time interval will be longer.

After 24 weeks of pregnancy , the fetal movement will be more obvious than before, and it will become more and more regular.

In the end , when the delivery is approaching , because the grown-up baby has almost filled the entire uterus, there is little room for movement, and the fetal head drops, so the fetal movement will be less than before.

When do you start counting fetal movements? How?

By the 28th week of pregnancy , the baby will gradually develop a regular routine, and the number of fetal movements will be relatively stable. Therefore, it is best to start counting fetal movements at this time.

Generally speaking, the fetal movement cannot be less than 3 to 5 times per hour, and the number of obvious fetal movements in 12 hours should be about 30 to 40 times, and some fetuses can even move about 100 times in 12 hours.

So, how should pregnant mothers count fetal movements?

The most common method is to record 1 hour of fetal movements in the morning, noon, and night, and then multiply the sum of these three fetal movements by 4 to calculate the 12-hour fetal movements.

For example, a pregnant mother's fetal movements 4 times in the morning from 9-10 o'clock, 4 times in the afternoon from 3-4 o'clock in the afternoon, and 3 times at 9-10 o'clock in the evening, then the 12-hour fetal movements of this pregnant mother is (4+4+3 )×4=44 times.

If you move too much and move less, is something wrong?

Fetal movement counting is a very effective way to self-check the health of the fetus. The number, speed, strength and weakness of the fetal movement all reflect the safety of the fetus. Therefore, if an abnormality occurs, pregnant mothers cannot help but worry.

In fact, fetal movement is affected by many factors, and it does not necessarily mean that there is a problem with more movement.

For example, after eating, before going to bed, and when taking a bath, listening to music, touching the belly, or talking to the belly, pregnant mothers will feel the fetal movement more frequently than before, and these are normal phenomena; if pregnant mothers feel The baby's less activity in the stomach may also be related to emotional instability, high pressure, exercise, etc., just adjust and rest appropriately.

However, if the number of fetal movements within a period of time is significantly increased or decreased than usual, or the number of fetal movements per 12 hours is less than 10-20 times, it indicates that the baby may have intrauterine hypoxia, which will cause special problems for pregnant mothers. Attention, go to the hospital in time.

Fetal movement is also very particular, moms-to-be, have you learned it?
